January 11th - Snow!

Tuesday night, I came upstairs to see how much snow we'd gotten and spotted Zoƫ absolutely glued to the sliding glass doors -- she was looking up and acting exactly like she does when she's watching birds at the birdfeeder. Considering it was nighttime, I had to laugh at the idea that she was waiting for the birds to appear... and then Rackham pointed out that she was tracking the snowflakes. I grabbed the camera to snap a few shots and observed her for a bit... and sure enough, she was tracking the snowflakes the same way she watches television (she's an odd cat... loves sitting and watching TV, especially home improvement shows).
Stalking the wild snow.
I didn't use the flash for this one, because I wanted to show the light dusting of snow on the back deck... this was about half an hour after it started (and we'd had no snow at all before that).

And about two hours later, the snow was still coming down...
Starting to pile up.
By the time I went to bed about an hour or so later, we had nearly four inches on the ground!
